A Delegation from Hefei Development and Reform Commission Visits Tianjin University of Science and Technology for Exchange Symposium


On April 8, a delegation from Hefei Development and Reform Commission visited Tianjin University of Science and Technology for an exchange symposium. Relevant responsible personnel and faculty representatives from the College of Biotechnology attended the meeting, which was presided over by Jiang Huifeng, Dean of the College of Biotechnology.

Du Yangang, Party Secretary of the College of Biotechnology, extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Hefei Development and Reform Commission, and introduced the breakthrough achievements the College has made in fields including light industry fermentation, biomedicine and food manufacturing. He expressed the hope that the two sides can take this exchange as an opportunity to focus on key core technology areas, build a collaborative innovation platform, continuously deepen the integration of industry, university, research and application, effectively promote the efficient transformation of innovative achievements, and inject strong impetus into the quality improvement and efficiency enhancement of the bioeconomy.

Jiang Huifeng introduced the College's discipline layout, team building and talent cultivation status. He stated that the College has yielded fruitful results in metabolic control fermentation, modern brewing technology, synthetic biology and other fields, and hopes that the two sides can deepen collaboration around the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, joint cultivation of high-end talents and university-local strategic cooperation, so as to realize the efficient docking of innovative resources.

Zhang Jie, Deputy Director of Hefei Development and Reform Commission, said that in recent years, Hefei has listed bio-manufacturing as one of the five municipal leading industries, and actively laid out the cutting-edge track of biotechnology. This investigation aims to conduct in-depth docking with top intellectual resources in the field of bioengineering across the country, and hopes to rely on the College's profound accumulation in light industry fermentation, biomedicine and other fields to provide technical and talent support for the high-quality development of the bioeconomy.

Faculty representatives from the College of Biotechnology reported the College's achievements in discipline construction, team development and scientific research innovation. The two sides had full discussions around industrial technology demands and the paths of achievement transformation, and initially reached a cooperation intention.
