On the morning of January 9, the College of Biotechnology hosted a special lecture themed "Postgraduate Degree Thesis Writing". This event specially invited two teachers from the Youth Academic Committee, Lü Xiaotong and Peng Chong, as keynote speakers. It was presided over by Wang Juke, Head of the Postgraduate Academic Affairs Section, with more than 500, 2026 graduating students participating online via the Rain Classroom platform.

Delivered by Ms. Lü Xiaotong, the lecture themed "Academic Ethics for Postgraduates: Cultivating Sound Academic Norms and Professional Literacy" systematically elaborates on the core connotation and significance of academic ethics, as well as the manifestations and consequences of academic misconduct. When explaining academic misconduct, Ms. Lü detailedly listed various forms including plagiarism, fabrication, multiple submissions of the same manuscript, and intellectual property infringement. Combined with real cases at home and abroad, she deeply analyzed the severe harms that academic misconduct brings to individuals, the academic community and the whole society, warning postgraduates to strictly abide by academic norms and consciously resist academic misconduct.

Focusing on "Analysis of Key Points in Degree Thesis Writing", Ms. Peng Chong provided all-round guidance on thesis writing for postgraduates. She gave detailed explanations covering standard thesis formatting, title setting skills, abstract writing methods, chart production standards and citation rules for references, and also shared practical Word operation skills to help postgraduates improve the efficiency and quality of their thesis writing.

Mr. Wang Juke elaborated on the 2026 degree conferral timeline, the interpretation of the anonymous review detailed rules document, and the precautions in the degree conferral work, reminding postgraduates to reasonably arrange their progress to ensure the smooth completion of degree applications. In his concluding remarks, Mr. Wang emphasized that academic ethics and norms are the essential qualities for postgraduates, as well as a vital guarantee for academic research. He required postgraduates to foster a rigorous academic attitude, pursue the truth of academic science, and consciously resist academic misconduct.

For a long time, the College has attached great importance to postgraduate degree thesis work, and guaranteed thesis quality through institutional construction. This training is a key link in the College's postgraduate training quality improvement initiative, which further translates institutional norms into students' practical capabilities.
