On January 23, the 2025 Annual Academic Conference of the College of Biotechnology was held in the lecture hall of the Yifu Building. The meeting was presided over by Sun Hua, Vice Dean of the College of Biotechnology, with all members of the School's leading group and all faculty members in attendance.

Dean Jiang Huifeng delivered the 2025 annual work report of the College, comprehensively summarizing the remarkable achievements made in fields including Party building, discipline layout, talent cultivation, scientific research innovation and international cooperation, while deeply analyzing the challenges faced in the development process. He emphasized that the College will closely align with national strategic orientation and the actual demands of the industry, focus on consolidating innovation platforms, promote the interdisciplinary integration of traditional advantageous disciplines and cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, accelerate the transformation and application of scientific research achievements, continuously strengthen team building, pool joint forces for development, and strive to build a high-level research-oriented school with distinctive features.

Faculty representatives of each team respectively delivered detailed reports on three aspects: the current status of team building, the implementation of key work in 2025, and the "135" Development Plan.

The College commended teams and individuals with outstanding performance in scientific research funding, outstanding Party branches and individuals in Party building, the 2025 "My Favorite Undergraduate Supervisor" of the College of Biotechnology, outstanding degree thesis supervisors, as well as the 2025 outstanding laboratory technicians and outstanding counselors of the College of Biotechnology.

At the end of the meeting, Party Secretary Du Yangang delivered a concluding speech. He first spoke highly of the remarkable achievements made by all teams in the work of 2025, and extended sincere gratitude to all faculty members for their diligent efforts. He emphasized that on the journey toward higher-level development, we must clearly recognize the existing room for improvement as well as the risks and tests we are facing. Based on the new development stage, we should proactively align with the national strategic layout and the key demands of industrial transformation and upgrading, translate the plans into practical actions, focus on building efficient teams, continue to carry forward the pragmatic and down-to-earth work style, ensure that all core tasks and indicators are completed with high quality, and jointly promote the development of the College's undertakings to a new level.

This annual academic conference not only serves as a comprehensive summary of past work, but also builds strategic consensus for future development. Taking this opportunity, the College will further unify its thinking and pool joint forces, overcome difficulties and pursue innovation with high morale and a down-to-earth work style, so as to jointly compose a new chapter of the College's high-quality development.
